Volunteer Spotlight! – James Jiang

Our volunteers are the engine that keeps 365give running. They are our content writers, tech support, social media managers and Board of Directors. James Jiang is a high school student, soon to be university student, from Vancouver B.C, who faithfully submits his articles in between exams, his other volunteer obligations, family obligations and recently his university applications.  We appreciate that he fits 365give into his schedule and continues to inspire others about the benefits of giving.
1. How did you become interested in 365give?

Browsing for opportunities on CharityVillage, I came upon 365Give’s posting for blog writers. Wanting to try out blog writing and interested after reading about “gives” on their website, I replied to the posting.

2. Why did you want to volunteer at 365give?

After speaking to Jacqueline (365Give’s Founder) on the phone, I found out about how excited she and the organization really were about giving. That excitement made me want to volunteer at 365Give and become apart of it all.

3. What have been your greatest rewards while volunteering at 365give?

My greatest reward has been the whole “give” mindset that is unique to those who frequent 365Give. Volunteering here, I’ve luckily grown into a “give” mindset.

4. Have you volunteered at other organizations? If so where?

Currently, I am also a content editor and team member for the Red Pocket Magazine, an online literary magazine. Based in Canada, it aims to inspire, engage, and act as a platform for the youth of the Asian diaspora.

5. What is your most inspiring give?

Although it might not sound like much, my favorite and probably most inspiring give is always being there for my best friends and family—always willing to talk, to sympathize with, and to cheer up.

James, we think that your give to friends and family is a great give. Listening, being there and chatting is a wonderful way to give back to others. It makes everyone feel happier, and will change how someone feels when you are there for them!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for their dedication to 365give. Your continued support, article writing, social media support and belief in giving, makes 365give keep going. You are the inspiration for us and our readers! Thank you.
