These Classroom Planet Gives Will Make Our Earth Happier

Let’s make our earth happier! Giving back to our planet does not have to be grand gestures such as driving an electric car or installing solar panels. However, there are planet gives that can be done from inside or outside the classroom that help make our earth much happier. Here are some ways you can give back to Mother Earth:

Set Up Giving Reminders Around the Classroom

This is a wonderful way to promote earth-saving habits while also allowing students to be creative. Create colourful, bright signs to put around the classroom or even outside! By putting up these signs, it not only helps to remind students and teachers to save energy and reduce waste but also brightens the classroom. These signs could remind students and teachers to switch off the light when they leave the classroom or to turn off the tap when you are not using it.

Have A Community Clean Up Day To Make Our Earth Happier

Another way to help make our earth happier is by keeping it clean! Set a day help pick up trash and clean inside or outside the classroom. This helps to keep not only your learning environment clean but also helps to make sure that the trash on the ground does not make it to our oceans!

Create and Use Classroom Recycling Bins

A fun new way to learn about recycling and recycling habits can be to create your own recycling bins for either their own homes or for the classroom. This is a great arts and craft activity that also teaches recycling habits and can be a fun way to practice how to sort through our trash.

Find Ways To Say ‘Thank You Earth!’

This a way to express our appreciation for Mother Earth while also practicing your writing skills. Write a letter to Mother Earth telling her all the things you are thankful for, it can be as simple as thanking her for the tree right outside your house or for the bright sunny days!

Learn More About Our Planet and Environment!

Another way that will make our earth happier is learning more about it! By learning more about the environment and how we can help, this helps us to understand how much the earth does for us. Learning about the environment and about the earth does not necessarily have to be documentaries but “The Lorax” is a wonderful film written by Dr. Seuss that teaches the importance of tress in our lives.

Host a Can Drive

An interesting way to support environmental organizations from the classroom could be collecting cans as a class. When the collection bin is full, you could cash in the collected cans and use the money collected to support local organisations that are supporting the environment. This could also be a fun competition done school wide to help raise money for the environment while also practicing recycling habits!
