Save The Date – #Do1Give Day Is Going Online! Give Virtually

These are extraordinary times that need extraordinary measures. If you follow 365give we had announced our annual event #Do1Give Day back in January. To date the event has clocked 90,000 global gives in just 2 years! We were gearing up for this years event with a goal of 100,000 global gives in 1 day. Online tools were uploaded to membership areas, schools were starting to plan their giving strategy, and people were excited to reach this years goal.

Then #COVID-19 hit. And hit hard globally.

We discussed at 365give if this was a good time to hold a global giving event. We all felt it was, this is the time when the world needs to give to others. But how were we going to execute the event to students at home, people on lock down, to those sheltering in place? Go online! Since #COVID19 broke out in Canada, the United States and South America, we have been writing about online giving. The giving show must go on while we shelter in place and spread the importance of giving during this time.

So #Do1Give is officially going online to all communities. If you are lucky enough to be in school or going to work, our regular offline community tools are still available, but online tools are being released to membership pages so you don’t have to miss out!

Why #Do1Give Day Is Even More Important April 15, 2020

#DO1Give Day is our way to introduce daily giving to the world. In 2018 we had 10,000 gives completed worldwide. In 2019 the event’s one day total was 80,000 gives. People around the world completed one small act of giving to spread happiness to others and feel the happiness effects on themselves. The event spread to all four corners of the earth using our virtual tag game – #tagURIT – where a person completes their give and tags friends online to do the same. The ripple felt around the world was a game changer.

For schools and classrooms, the event introduces pro-social behaviours through small acts of giving. For work places, the event proves that team giving increases workplace productivity. For club and community groups, they realize their power to change themselves and their communities when they reach out and give to people. Individuals love participating and sharing their give to friends all over the world. Families see it as a way to give together and teach our children the effect of a planet, animal or people give.

Post event, people continue to give every day as they see the positive benefits both for themselves and others. Through our free membership, they are given free giving tools that keep them motivated, inspired and happy every day.

Being kind makes kind. This is what #Do1Give Day is all about!

Give Virtually or In Person –  #Do1Give Day Will Go On!

Different cities and countries are at various phases in their COVID-19 strategies. We recognize that some people are on lock down, some are sheltering in place, some people are off lock down and practicing social distancing. All we ask is that you adhere to your community rules and COVID-19 obligations first and choose your #Do1Give Day participation that follows local COVID-19 procedures.
