Day 31: Free Rice

Last night my hubby was watching the George Stroumboulopoulos Show. At the end of the show George generously gave me my GIVE of the day today.

George was encouraging his guests to go to a site called Free Rice.

It is an educational site that allows you to donate grains of rice as you test your intelligence with skill testing questions. Fun and giving all at once. The more questions you answer correctly the more you donate. Let the GIVE begin!

GIVE 31: DAY 31

I wanted to donate 500 grains of rice today. I had to answer 50 questions. I timed how long it would take me to earn my 500 grains of rice. 4 minutes.

I do not consider myself “well educated” and I am not a speed reader so any one can do this and it’s a great learning game to play with your kids.

I contributed towards the already donated 50928630 grains of rice donated yesterday. Over 2 billion grains of rice have been “earned” to date. That is enough to feed more than 4.3 million people for one day!

Free rice is a simple game that is changing the world through the World Food Programme. The more you play, the bigger your impact will be and the bigger your impact, the better our world can become. So play often, pass it on to your friends and play together!

Time Commitment: 4 minutes

Cost: 0
