Get Your Community Group Giving – It’s As Easy As 1,2,3!

Ready to try Community Group giving with your local club? Community Groups in 2019 are looking very different to my Community Club days of the 70’s. Brownies, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Rangers were the go to Community Clubs in my household, with many of my friends doing Little League, Church Youth Groups, and School Group like the Debate Team, Latin Club or the Girls Athletic Association. Our parents expected us to participate in one of these Community Clubs and we loved it! We embraced the Club’s mission to participate in community service, educational projects, environmental endeavors, leadership opportunities and recreational activities. We got the whole nine yards on our community groups, all of it!

Community Groups and Youth Leadership in the 21st Century

2019 has created a different landscape for Community Clubs. Things have changed. With the use of social media, online communication and the internet, meeting face to face is not the norm for groups. More interaction is happening online. You can meet more people from various backgrounds, you can spend more time meeting and less time traveling. More information can be shared over time with the lightning speed of text messages and the internet. Youth and retirees are finding interesting groups to interact with through their devices and online groups.

So how can you start Community Group giving? How can they participate in the 365give Challenge if they are special interest groups, online communities, a sports club, School group or a casual membership club that uses their club to maintain social connections?

No matter what type of Community Group you are involved with, you can adopt a giving culture as part of your club. Taking time to complete one give as a group can build cohesion, bring the group closer, and inspire other Clubs and Groups to do the same. Your impact can ripple far and wide.

Step 1 – Join the 365give Challenge With Your Club or Group

Sign up for a free membership at 365give. It’s free and easy to do. One one leadership contact is needed, and you can share our emails with your members. Share our social media links with your community members so you can all follow what is happening in the world of Global Giving.

Step 2 – Make Your Giving List

Brainstorm together and find online and offline gives that inspire your members. What we love about giving is it can be done together or you can use your group to crowdsource gives. Yup, you can create more happiness as a group. If your give is to share an inspiring quote online, think of the impact 20 group members can have. This is a wow moment. It is powerful how a group can work together to change the world with small gives done together.

Step 3 – Schedule Your Giving List

Your group might decide to do one give at the beginning of each meeting. Your group may decide to take on a project that incorporates your gives. Your group may use your meetings to share your giving experiences. It is up to you. The mission is to start giving with the support of your Community Group members.

Record the gives your community group completes on our Impact Map. Inspire other community groups to do the same and make giving a part of weekly or monthly meetings. Giving is easy, doing it as a group has impact.

They have partnered with us in our annual event #Do1Give Day which has grown into a global giving event! Their passion for making a difference has happened and we appreciate everything they do! Thank you!
