Start Planning Your Mother’s Day Gives

Get ready for your Mother’s Day gives! Mother’s Day is quickly approaching in some many countries worldwide. In Canada, May 8th is the day we celebrate the women who have watched us grow up. Or perhaps you wish to use this day to show appreciation for someone you consider a maternal figure, or a role model you look up to. NO matter which date corresponds to your country’s Mother’s Day, use May 8th as a give to mom day even if you celebrated earlier this year!

It can be challenging to find an opportunity to thank our moms, or other supportive women in our lives, for all they do, which is why Mother’s Day is the perfect occasion for expressing gratitude.

Read on for a list of Mother’s Day Gives we can use to give back to the women who care for us, and whom we also care for.

Make a Personalized Card – Paper or Digital

A card–either handmade or digital–is a thoughtful and deeply personal gift that can certainly go a long way. Consider making a personalized card as your Mother’s Day give. Share some words of appreciation for the recipient of your card – let them know why you are grateful to have them in your life.

Make Your Mother’s Day Give A Photo Collage

Photos are our records of birthdays, family celebrations, and other important events – they capture the moments we cherish. Take out your photo albums or scroll through your camera roll to find some pictures of you and mom, or another maternal figure that has been a part of your life. Choose your favourites and organize them into a collage – this can be done by hand or digitally. A photo collage is a great Mother’s Day Give, as it serves as a reminder of the fond memories we have with the women we value so much.

Support Single Moms – Donate Now

Consider donating to an organization that supports single mothers as your Mother’s Day Give, such as Cause We Care Foundation, MOMS Canada, and Mom2Mom. If you wish to donate internationally, check out Kiva and make a microloan to a single mom. If none of these suggestions are hitting your target area, research charities that provide help for single moms in your local area.

Spend the Day with Mom

Life gets busy, which is why it can definitely be difficult to find the time to spend a day with the people who are dear to us. Whether you are celebrating your mother or another female role model who has supported you, spend some time with them this Mother’s Day. Do an activity with them that they enjoy. Or make them their favourite meal. This will surely make any mom feel special and appreciated.

Try Out One of These Mother’s Day Gives

On May 8th, try out any of these gives to show appreciation for mom, or whoever you might be celebrating. Though Mother’s Day is the day we typically use to express our gratitude for the special women in our lives, these gives can be used on any day of the year.
