Great Workplace Gives For The Holidays

These great workplace gives for the holidays will raise the spirits of employees, business owners, customers, clients and suppliers. Whether you work virtually or in person, there are giving ideas for this holiday season that will bring happiness after a long and topsy turvy year. Between lock downs, health issues, business closures and re-working in many cases how we do our work, this year has tested all of us. There have been moments of incredible joy and moments that tested our ability to adapt. It is time to start working on our well being, finding a balance at work, and reaching for that joy and happiness that all of us deserve.

So how do we do that? Yes we deserve a happy work place and productive environment, but with all the changes we have experienced, this seems a bit daunting.

Well, in the spirit of the holidays, and in the spirit of giving, it is time to look at creating a work place give that everyone can participate in, and others can enjoy. You can give to each other in your workplace, to people in the community, to your customers and providers, or all of these. You decide and just make the plan. It is easy to do, and even easy to complete.

So lets have a look at some great workplace gives for the holidays, and see which one fits your workplace best!

Group Giving In Your Community – Workplace Gives For The Holidays

There is power in numbers and your group gives will bring a lot of holiday happiness. Pool together food and clothing that would be of great use to families, seniors, or those living alone. Food insecurity is a huge issue all over the world, and you can do something about it in your community. Package up the donations your work place brings in and give holiday packages to those in your community. Maybe an employee’s neighbour is having food insecurity issues, perhaps a customer you have is a senior and could benefit from your kindness. There are many local shelters, community organizations that can help with the distribution of your holiday packages. Bring some much needed joy and salvation to those who need it!

Cookie Exchange In Your Workplace

This is super fun and will spread a lot of joy at work. Have everyone bring in holiday cookies and host an exchange just before the holidays. If you want to spread happiness a little further than your place of work, share these treats with customers, clients and providers. They will love a little package of treats during the holidays. If there are any leftovers take them to a seniors home, a fire station, seniors home or community center, and spread that happiness around!

Small Tree Give Away

We are really big on having potted holiday trees that can be replanted after Christmas. Sure, these are not as large as cut trees, but the benefits to our planet come January outweighs the need for a large cut tree. Some businesses like to give away turkeys at christmas, but why not give away potted Christmas trees to local organizations. Poeple can enjoy the trees during December and then complete their own planet give in January by planting the tree near by. You not only will be giving to others, but inspiring others to give as well!

Holiday Gratitude Messages and Cards

If you are in the habit of sending out Holiday cards to clients, customers, employees, managers and providers, add a personal gratitude message this year. Let each person know what you are grateful for and how they have contributed to your business. Perhaps an employee was very flexible during this trying year, or a provider was able to get you a bit more product than expected. A customer did not give up on you even when you were unable to provide the quality service they are used to. The holidays are all about gratitude so put a bit of effort this year into your holiday cards to spread more joy and happiness to those who make your business work, make it thrive and help you to deliver your products and services.

Do A Collective Donation To a Local Organization or Community Service

All of us need a hand once in a while and those who serve our most underserved communities need our help! Forgo that Xmas celebration and donate the funds to a local organization. Take a portion of your holiday bonus and give back to others who are underemployed, food insecure or just not able to work. Your entire company will feel happier for supporting those who could use a hand right now so why not give back!

Host A Food Drive At Work

This is a great way to get others involved in giving. Customers, employees, and providers can work together to collect food for a local food bank, community center or shelter. Donate your collective give to one of these organizations so everyone can have a meal over the holidays, and into the New Year. There is great happiness power in numbers, so make this a team effort!

If you love these giving ideas, start planning early next year and start your workplace Reverse Advent Calendar. With 24 days of giving before Christmas you can spread a whole lotta of happiness within your work place, in your community and if you want, globally. Giving does make the world go around and you can have an impact on your happiness, your employees happiness and your community happiness.
