Day 61: What You are Doing to GIVE Today

Sharing ways to GIVE is so exciting!

Today’s GIVE was sent to me by a reader. It’s her GIVE but something I do every day too. I thought it was worth a post as it’s something we can all do to GIVE today.

The hardest thing about “blogging” is trying to get the news out into the world of social media that you are doing something worthy of a few precious minutes. In the case of 365give, I’m not just trying to do “something” but I am trying to inspire people to GIVE just a little more in their lives every day. I am bringing the “art of giving” to the front part of your brain rather than letting it hide in the back dark section we reserve for everything we don’t have time for.

So today’s GIVE is about spreading the word of giving. The holiday season is just around the corner and it seems all we do is spend money giving gifts to everyone. This one if free!

This year, I suggest putting 365give on your Santa’s Wish List.”Dear Santa, please give me the time over the holidays to spread the world about 365give.” This GIVE will cost you nothing except few minutes of your time whenever it works for you – no schedule.

Here it comes: tell you friends about 365give, email your entire list sharing the news of giving through 365give, Facebook 365give, Re- Tweet 365give, you can even “like” 365give on YouTube now. You may not have the time to GIVE everyday but if you send out a “recommended read” of 365give to everyone on your social media list you have become part of the 365give community.

Let’s estimate what may happen by spreading the word of giving. If you share 365give with 365 people in your social media outlets, if only 10 are inspired by 365give and they share the 365give story to 365 friends, by the end of the next 365 days, with a ripple effect factor in play, we should have at least 10,000,000 people around the world inspired to GIVE just a little more every day.

That’s all it takes to change the world. Each of us doing something a little more. Make 365give your “something more” for today.

Give 61 / Day 61

This message below was sent from Sue in Ontario last week.

“Hi, I just wanted to tell you that today,I decided to give by letting people know of your website. On route this morning delivering papers in downtown Guelph I spread the news. One office building I was in, I shared about your site, with a woman I was on the elevator with. Followed by sharing with a woman who works in a real estate office, I shared how excited I am with giving each day and how valuable the site is and about the money raised for cancer. Last weekend, I spoke of cancer and my friend Jan and her recent experience with recovering, the woman started crying, and said today would have been her Father’s birthday, he recently passed away of cancer and how she thought what I was telling her of was meant to be. She will check out your blog. And I hope she feels inspired as well. I am in awe of what happened and very happy for the times I have heard I talk too much, yes, I love chatting with people and I am thankful that today I am feeling very light and chatty.”

Thank you Sue for sharing your GIVE.

Everyday I talk to at least one person new about 365give and someday I talk to 10. This is the GIVE that keeps giving back because it just keeps spreading the news of giving.

Time Commitment: A few minutes every day to share the 365give story

Cost: 0 (big point here no cost)
