Day 347: How Will You Reduce Your Carbon Footprint Today?

Today is the day to stand together to change the world and reduce your carbon footprint.
Climate change is no longer a scientific fable we can ignore.
It is here and today the world is standing together to save our planet. What will you do to help?
Day 347: Give 347

2000 events
175 countries

Bike, Walk, March, Skate

These are the ways we can reduce the C02 on our planet and today is the day to show the world it can be done.

“Here’s the deal: scientists have determined that to preserve our planet, we must reduce the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere from its current level of 392 parts per million (“ppm”)to below 350 ppm. You can think of 350 as the “safe upper limit” for carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. But 350 is more than a number—it’s a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

Three years ago, after leading climatologists observed rapid ice melt in the Arctic and other frightening signs of climate change, they issued a series of studies showing that the planet faced both human and natural disaster if atmospheric concentrations of CO2 remained above 350 parts per million.Everyone from Al Gore to the U.N.’s top climate scientist has now embraced this goal as necessary for stabilizing the planet and preventing complete disaster.” quoted from the Moving Planet site.

How can you participate? Pick a location today nearest you where there is a Moving Planet event going on and participate. If you can’t join an event do your part. Get out of your car, get off your motorcycle and walk, bike, march or skate. Move your body and help Move the Planet one step closer to finding the balance – the 350 factor.
