Day 250: The Smile Train: What if Your Child Couldn’t Smile?

My daily give for today is to support a charity called The Smile Train with a small donation. If a donation is not an option for you think about volunteering with this organization or the Kids are Heroes Organization. You might even want your young philanthropist post on the Kids Are Heroes site.

I couldn’t image a day without seeing my son smile at me. It happens a 1000 times a day and it is one of the greatest gifts I could receive. Children all over the world are born without the ability to smile and one little girl is trying to change it.

Day 250: Give 250

Andy at Birth

Today is the last day of a 4 part series featuring the You Tube Challenge from Kids are Heroes. I have been introduced to children that are doing amazing things to change the world. The little girl in this video, Andi, is just 10 years old and has had 10 surgeries to repair a cleft lip and palate she was born with. Her mission is simple: To help every child around the world get the surgery they need to repair their cleft lip and palate. Here is a quote from Andi:

“I am just a little girl that wants to help others like myself that are born with it.”

Many of us spend so much time on our grand missions to change the world and I think Andi has it right. Keep it simple and just create the change YOU want to see in the world. Andi has raised enough money in partnership with The Smile Train to provide 35 surgeries to children that would otherwise never have the surgery they need to help them eat, talk and thrive.

Andi’s mission is simple and with your support she could do so much more. For just $250 The Smile Train can provide the surgery to a child that so desperately needs it. Every dollar donated to Andi’s mission will help her help others.
