Day 160: 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day!

To all the women in the world – it’s our day to celebrate! Put on your dancing shoes and celebrate your strength, courage and wisdom.

We have come a long way but we have a long way to go. So many women are still segregated, abused and treated as if they don’t even exists. Today is the day we all stand together and have one voice to change the world.

Day 160: Give 160

Today is the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. There are so many ways you can participate across the world.

1) Women for Women celebrate by leading women across bridges. They stand together as one voice all over the world so they are heard across the waters. I started my give by signing their petition to support the women of Afghanistan. There is no peace without a women’s voices being included in our world and it is time, as they rebuild, that women are given that voice.

2) One of the keys to fighting poverty is to empower women. Education is the key. CARE gave me that opportunity. For a small donation of just $49 I am sending a young girl to school. Education gives women the opportunity to increase their earning power and most importantly to stay alive. Knowledge is power and there is nothing like the power of a women!

3) I sent out an email to all the women in my life thanking them for all they have given me. Here is the letter I sent to inspire you to do the same:

Happy International Women`s Day

To the Wonderful Women in my Life,

Today is a very special day. It`s all about us! Today I am celebrating International`s Women`s Day by letting the women in my life know how much I value each and every one of you.

From the day I was born I have been surrounded by brilliant, strong and loving women. You have all brought so much to my life. I have three words that I use as my personal mantra which represent all you. They are Strength, Courage and Wisdom.

Today I want to thank you all for all the wonderful things you have brought to my life – so much laughter, so much learning, so much understanding, compassion and so much unconditional love. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by each and every one of you.

Today I celebrate all women in the world. We have come a long way but we still have a long way to go in so many countries. Take a few moments today and find one way you could honour a women in your life or a way you could help a women somewhere in the world that may not be as blessed as we are.

Let`s stand together today with one voice and one heart to create more change the world and make it a better place for all women.

I love you all.
