365give Volunteer Spotlight – One Of Our Remote Volunteers!

Sarah has been a remote volunteer writer for the 365give blog since November 2019. She brings a fresh perspective to giving and is a valuable part of our team. 365give is a volunteer driven organization with over 15 volunteers managing all functions of the website, article writing, social media and our Board of Directors. Their gives are what bring our content, inspiration, programming and day to day giving ideas to you. Sarah has sent us her perspective on why she wanted to volunteer for 365give and impact our world through daily giving ideas. She lives in Vancouver but comes from the UK. As an artist and graphic designer, she harnesses her creativity in her daily giving ideas and how she personally approaches giving, a positive outlook and helping others.

How did you become interested in 365give?

I discovered 365give through a volunteering website and felt this could be a perfect opportunity to create positive change in the world.

Why did you want to volunteer at 365give?

I love the creativity of 365give; how they seek to find new ways to help people with small, yet powerful, gestures. The idea of making the world a better place through kindness and love is a wonderful thing and something I was keen to become part of.

What have been your greatest rewards while volunteering at 365give?

I have found researching and discovering creative ideas for giving back to be most rewarding. Highlighting the importance of mental health care, is something that has motivated me to create posts.

Have you volunteered at other organizations? If so where?

I have volunteered at art projects in the UK previously. Another subject close to my heart!

What is your most inspiring give?

I try to give every day in small gestures towards both strangers and loved ones. I try to always be a shoulder for friends and anyone in need who opens up to me. Many hours have been spent listening to the troubles of others and I will always offer help where I can. Often just a sympathetic ear (and sometimes a good hug) is all that is needed to make them feel better. Something everyone can do for those around them.
