Today I am starting a special series on some very special kids that deserve to be recognized. You have to watch this video. It amazes me every day how children are changing the world. They are finding it in their hearts (along with the support of their parents) to do something that really matters in the world. They are setting a standard for kids and adults around the world to step up and do something to make the world a better place.
Day 247 / Give 247
Shortly after I started 365give I stumbled upon a site called Kids are Heroes. It is about a little girl called MaryMargaret that wanted to something for the world. It started with helping animals but it just didn’t seem enough to MaryMargaret. She wanted to do more. With the help of her family they have turned into a worldwide movement that is turning heads.
This is what Kids are Heroes is all about:
“Kids Are Heroes® is a non-profit that empowers, encourages and inspires children to become leaders through volunteerism and community involvement. We do this by showcasing and supporting children who are making a difference through their selfless acts of giving.
We teach children to follow their passions at an early age. This will instinctively stay with them throughout their entire lives.”
I already know this with my 3 year old. He is embracing giving and naturally does it already. Whether is sharing toys and snacks, picking up garbage or planting an edible garden, he actully grasps the concept of giving already.
Recently Kids Are Heroes started a You Tube Challenge to encourage kids all over the world to submit their remarkable philanthropic endeavours. Each video is worth watching and with every watch a vote is submitted that makes them all winners.
The first video is by a young man by the name of Wes Prankard from Ontario, Canada. He has a site called Northern Star Fish and building play grounds for aboriginal children. He believes that all kids have the right to play. Give Wes the respect and time her deserves by watching his video today.
365give is so impressed with Kids Are Hero’s I made a donation to get our logo up in their Foundation Giving Wall. I want everyone to see how much I respect and admire their work. Every day along with posting a video of each amazing philanthropic child I will be making a donation for this remarkable cause.
Will you donate to get a tile on their wall?
Is your child doing something to make an impact already in the world? Submit his / her video to Kids are Heros and share their story in hopes to inspire others around the world to give more.
If you can’t make a video leave a comment here at 365give and share your child’s and how they are giving back to the world.
Time Commitment: 3 minutes to donate
