Day 348: Wake Up & Be Thankful Everyday
Sep 25th
Do you have those days when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
You work long hours, you have bills piling up, the house is a mess and there is never enough time to spend with your kids.
What if on those really bad days – and the good days – you woke up and the first thing you did was to be thankful.
Day 349: Give 349
Today’s give was inspired by my friends at The Note Project. On Day 166 I featured The Note Project who’s goal is to inspire 1,000,000 notes of appreciation to be sent around the world. They believe that sending a note of appreciation can change a persons life, your own and the world. I completely agree.
Now for the magic recipe! 1 note of appreciation + being thankful everyday and you may just see some magic start to happen. If you wake up grateful every day for just one thing in your life your outlook will become more positive. It will rub off on your family, your co-workers and the world around you.
It’s the ripple effect in full force. When you are thankful in your life for what you have (not what you don’t have) it will make you more likely to give. You don’t have to have a lot to give but what a great give to tell one person in your life how thankful you are for them. What a great give to tell a co-worker how thankful you are for their support.
It turns our crazy world from an angry, sad one to one of giving and love.
The Thankfulfor project will help to remind you to be thankful every day. It’s a community of people that are sharing what they are thankful for to spread the good around.
“Research shows that saying “thank you” for the good stuff in life makes for a happier, healthier you. And it makes those around you feel pretty darn good, too. So spread the love.”
What are you thankful for in your life? Leave a comment and spread your happiness for what is good in your life.
Time Commitment: 3 minutes to sign up and write what you are thankful for today
Cost: 0

Day 343: Give 343
Could you imagine living with no light in your home?
Could you imagine living without the money to afford light in your home?
As a mother I’m not sure how I would care for my family. How do you even cook a meal to feed them?
What if for just $1.25 you could provide light in someone’s home that was eco-friendly and reused the plastic bottles that are floating all over our oceans causing terrible environmental damage.
A Liter of Light is lighting up homes all over the world that may not have access to electrical power or the money to pay for such a luxury. It’s an amazing invention!
1 large plastic bottle filled with water and bleach reflects the suns light into a home creating a natural 55 watt light bulb.
A Liter of Light has helped create a better life for over 10,000 homes to date with a goal of 1,000,000 by 2012. Sustainable, eco-friendly, cost effective and reusing plastic that would otherwise keep filling up our landfills and oceans.
Today I made a donation to bring light to 8 homes. If we all made a small donation today we could help them reach their goal of 1,000,000 homes by 2012. Make a donation and light up someone’s life today.
Time Commitment: 1 minute to make an online donation
Cost: $10.00
Day 340: Kick Starting Gen Y to be the Change in the World
Sep 17th
25 days left of giving every day for 365 days.
Some days I wonder what I can possibly come up with that will be a new and inspiring way to give. Then some wonderful giving idea hits me via Facebook or Twitter. This inspiration arrived as an invitation via Facebook to attend a video launch. I missed the launch time but I went and viewed the video. It has inspired me to give today and I think it may inspire you as well.

Day 340: Give 340
Generation Waking Up has a clear purpose: “A global campaign to ignite a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, sustainable world.”
Gen Y inspiring and teaching other Gen Yer’s on how they can become leaders in their own communities to be the change the world needs. I have always said it will be the next generation that creates great change in our world and Generation Wake Up is proof of this.
But every not for profit organization needs support to get a kick start for their campaign. Today I have decided to support Generation Wake Up with a contribution to their Kickstarter Campaign. Start up funds are needed to increase their reach and continue their campaign with the tools they require to reach the most people.
If you are not familiar with Kickstarter it is worth a look. They are the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. If you have a creative project you need funding this is a great place to go to use the power of crowdfunding to get your project off the ground.
Today I made a contribution to Generation Waking Up because they are empowering the next generation to get away from the “me” factor that has been inbred in us since birth and create a brain shift to be inclusive and be the change makers of the world. An all inclusive world that works together to create the change that is needed across our planet.
Someone has to change the world – why not our children? Take a few minutes to read and watch what Generation Wake Up is doing and consider supporting their mission.
Time Commitment: 2 minutes
Cost: $10.00
