Raising the Roof for Children
365day 365gives My Story

365give launched on a simple premise: One person wanted to create positive change in a world; one person wanted to leave a legacy of giving; one person wanted to create a movement that would mobilize people to give back every day of their lives. 365give is an online diary of one woman’s actions and impact in changing the world every day for 365days. 365give has the potential to create a movement of giving and a community of committed ”givers” that can educate and inspire future generations.

So I want to learn more about how this organization works. How do you guys find the children who need an education? What sort of community leaders do you work with in Uganda? Thanks!

Hi John. I don’t personally find children on the street. I work with organizations that do this. One in particular is Atkin Afrika working out of Uganda. The children have specific please they sleep (behind garbage bins and dumps) and are easy to find. They interview the children and find out their back ground. They work on gaining their trust and they have been invited to live at the shelter they are providing for the children. If you take a look at their site you can read their story and how it evolved. Let me know if you would like more information. Thanks for your inquiry. These children need all the help and support they can get.
